Nairobi's home of fried tilapia.

Whole fresh fish, crispy outside and tender inside, served with ugali and greens the way it should be.

Our Story

A Kilimani institution.

Mama Oliech started as a small family kitchen on Marcus Garvey Road and grew into one of the most loved restaurants in Nairobi. No shortcuts, no fusion, no fuss. Just Kenyan food cooked with pride.

When Mark Zuckerberg visited Nairobi in 2016, this is where he was brought to eat fish. Ask any local where to get real tilapia and you will hear the same name.

Families, office lunches, first dates, homesick Nairobians back from abroad. Everyone ends up at the same tables, eating with their hands.
